Suicide hurts…

Mental Health issues are real…

In recent years, CDC stats have documented up to 48,000 people die by suicide in one year with suicide being listed as the second leading cause of death in ages 10-34. The pandemic, social isolation, illnesses, social media bullying, abuse…all have contributed to feelings of despair to the point where more and more people are considering taking their lives. To those who are affected, it feels like all hope is lost. Others are affected by the ripple effect of suicide or attempted suicide. Suicide hurts many people and lives are changed. We want to make a difference in this hard area of life by training anyone who is willing to become suicide alert and learn to recognize the signs of someone who has reached that level of despair…and what to do to help them be safe and get connected to helpful resources.

How to Care for Yourself as You Care for Others

Yes, Mental Health issues are very real - We cannot ignore them anymore. Our mental health affects not only ourselves but our families, friends and communities. Dale and Brenda seek opportunities to help educators and community leaders find strength in the midst of the hard. They share specific ways teachers and leaders can be more aware of self-care as they pour themselves out to their students, community and/or employees as well as motivational ideas and reminders of ways they can encourage each other. In our educational trauma care seminars, we also share thoughts on how to help children deal with the trauma that is affecting their lives on a daily basis and ways teachers can meet needs created in their classroom because of the crisis of trauma.
